The speakers included Béatrice Bourges, a founder member of La Manif pour Tous and president of Le Printemps Français; Luca Volontè, a former member of the Italian parliament and of the parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe, now president of the Fondazione Novae Terrae; Christine Boutin, former minister; and Paul-Marie Coûteaux, essayist, historian and former Member of the European Parliament.
Alongside them spoke Elena Mizulina, chairman of the Family Affairs Committee of the Russian Duma and her Vice-Chairman, Olga Batalina. The Russian parliament has recently voted a law against the promotion of homosexuality to minors (rather like Section 28 of the Local Government Act passed in the United Kingdom in 1988). It has also been obliged to revise its agreements on adoption with France and other countries following their legislation in favour of adoption by gay couples: the Russian population is overwhelmingly opposed both to the promotion of homosexuality to minors and to the adoption of Russian children by homosexuals. (This is currently not allowed under Russian law for adoption within Russia and the purpose of the revision of the international adoption agreements is to bring international adoption rules into line with national ones.)
The speeches can be read on line (in French) here: Béatrice Bourges; Christine Boutin; Natalia Narochnitskaya; Luca Volontè.
